Pickaway County, Ohio – Pickaway County is proud to announce the inaugural Brad Morris Holiday Classic, a celebration of high school basketball and community spirit. This County Basketball Classic, featuring Circleville High School, Logan Elm High School, Westfall High School, and Teays Valley High School, has been named to honor the remarkable legacy of Brad Morris.

Brad Morris, a Logan Elm graduate (Class of 2002), was a beloved sports journalist whose career spanned over two decades. Known for his unwavering commitment to Pickaway County athletics, Brad tirelessly highlighted the achievements of student-athletes through his work with The Circleville Herald and as co-founder of the Sporting Pumpkin website. His heartfelt storytelling brought the accomplishments, challenges, and dreams of local athletes to life, inspiring generations and elevating the community’s appreciation for high school sports.

In 2019, Brad’s dedication to excellence in sports journalism was recognized with the prestigious Associated Press Award for Best Sports Writer. Beyond his professional accolades, Brad was an advocate for youth, a champion of local sports, and a community builder whose impact continues to resonate deeply. The Brad Morris Holiday Classic is a fitting tribute to Brad’s passion and legacy. It serves as a reminder of his profound belief in the potential of Pickaway County’s youth and his enduring impact on the community he loved so deeply.
